After working successfully for twenty-two years as a licensed professional counselor assisting individuals with personal issues, I decided to shift my focus to helping people in another significant way. I noticed that people viewed their dogs as an important family member and valued them highly in their lives. I have loved dogs since childhood, and they have been a special part of my life. I realized that I could combine my professional knowledge in helping people with my personal love for dogs.
My goal is to help you create the kind of relationship you want to have with your canine companion.
I am a Certified Dog Trainer through Animal Behavior College (ABCDT) and been nationally certified as a Pet Dog Trainer through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CPDT-KA). I am also a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers.
I am currenlty the Training Coordinator and an Instructor at Handi-Dogs, Inc., a non-profit organization that trains seniors and people with physical and psychiatric disabilities to train their dogs as companions, therapy or service dogs. In addition, I am an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, and I taught obedience classes at the Humane Society of Southern Arizona for two years.
